Kenpo Continuum Volume 2
When I came up with the idea for the Kenpo Continuum, I had many discussions with people like Dennis Conatser and Lee Wedlake. I talked about the best way to go about it and elicited their help in confirming people's stories, as well as getting some amazing write-ups for the back fo the book. I also had Edmund Parker generously donate his artistic expertise for the cover of the book.
What I found was that after the book came out, people flooded me with emails and such wanting to know why they weren't included. I advertised for a year all over the internet, but naturally failed to reach all sort of qualified and capable people. I hope to rectify that as much as possible this time around.
Requirements for inclusion:
1. Black belt in kenpo karate.
2. 10 years of active training time on the mat.
3. An interest in telling your story.
4. Your story can be up to 575 words with one, very clear, picture. Pictures from at least the waist up tend to show up better. Last time, I got a lot of far away pictures, full body shots or pictures with other people, that are hard to see. I need one in a .jpg format because pictures sent will not be returned. This will give you two full pages in the book with one picture. You'll find some sample stories on another page of the site. This can give you an idea of what to write.
Talk about when you started, why you started, who you trained with, what kept you training, and how it has affected your life.
Please please please have someone read through your story for you before submitting it. I would appreciate your story written in a word document, included in a zipped folder with your high resolution picture. Please label your picture with your name. I would hate to get your picture put on the wrong bio!
The cost for inclusion is $50. For this amount, you get two copies of the finished book mailed to you upon completion. Given that the books will be at least $20, along with the $5 shipping, you are basically paying $5 to be in the book.
To secure your place in the book, please submit payment through check or paypal. Please send your essay as soon as you are done writing it and having someone edit it for you, Please put the word document and the picture in a zipped file with your name on it. If you don't know how to do that, send the story and the picture and I'll put it together for you. :)
